March 8, 2016 – A day 82,000+ runners had been anxiously awaiting. This was the day the New York Road Runners club ran their electronic lottery for entry into the 2016 running of New York City’s most famous marathon.
Only 19,000ish runners would get the coveted “Congratulatons! You’ve been accepted” email. For the second year in a row, I received one of those emails!
In 2015, I made my first trip to NYC; ran an amazing race, breaking my marathon personal best; and knew I had to run that race again.
It will be a bittersweet trip, as in 2016, my wife won’t be able to make the journey with me, that’s another post to be made soon – so I will have to have a whirlwind trip. Will it negatively effect my race effort? Check back for my race report, and see!
