Getting Out There

I will be volunteering with some of the Ragnar Relay staff this weekend to assist at the 6th Annual Laughlin Half Marathon / 5K run. With a wide variety of runners and sponsors involved, networking with more people in the community is always a good idea.

If this overcast, windy weather sticks around, it should make for an interesting event. Hopefully the runners are ready for non-optimal running conditions.

In other areas of the job search, there may be more opportunities appearing in the city. All it will take is one good company in need of a well-rounded employee to have their interest piqued by my cover letter and resume. Once I get an in-person interview, I am positive that I can get an offer.

Allow me to introduce myself

In April of 2010, I found myself in a situation I have not been in for many, many years. With the downturn in the world’s economy, the automotive industry taking a particularly bad hit, I have joined the approximately 14% of Las Vegas’ population in the ranks of unemployment.

Conveying the wide range of abilities and skills I have picked up is difficult on a single sheet of paper, ie a resume. With the nature of today’s hiring environment, it seems prudent to have as much information available to hiring managers as possible.

Available for a myriad of business types, positions and hours, as well as open to travel, and other non-standard requirements.
Additional information will be available in future posts, employment history is available in my resume, at present.
